Electricity bills are set to increase at an average of 3% over the next 12 months. Having a quality solar system installed pays dividends in many ways. There are currently solar incentives from the Australian Government, and you save money on your electricity bill. If there is excess electricity produced by your solar panels it is sold back to the grid, so you make a profit from the electricity company.
How Do I Save on My Up Front Costs?
When you order solar systems in Nambucca Heads, Port Macquarie and other areas of New South Wales the Australian government provide a solar rebate that can reduce the costs of your solar system by up to one third. There are a number of different solar systems to choose from.
Long Term Financial Benefits
Once you have had your solar installation done you will start to save money on your electricity bill. Electricity is created through your solar panels which will reduce your electricity bill. Having solar installed gives you a great return on investment (ROI). While we do recommend routine inspections, there is very little maintenance required on your solar system.
What Can I Do to Maximise My Return?
Choose the Best Solar Panels for your Property
There is not a one sized fits all solution when it comes to solar installation. The size of solar system you require will depend on the size of your home, the access that your home has to sunlight on a daily basis, and the weather in your area. Talk to our certified solar installers at Bila Energy. We provide free advice and an obligation free quotation on the best system to meet your needs.
Monitor your Consumption of Energy
For best financial results, utilise your electricity during sunlight hours. If you run the dishwasher, do the washing during the middle of the day you will begin to save a lot of money. If you are out of the house during these times, many of these tasks can be automated with a timer. If you run all of your appliances at the same time each day this can add up to big savings.
Use One Appliance at a Time
If you are using a lot of electrical appliances at once, you could be dipping into the grid and so incurring electricity charges that can be avoided. It may seem inefficient, however, the more electricity you use at once the more taxing it is on your energy supply.
To avoid this problem, you can set timers for your appliances to run at half hour or one hour intervals. I.e. set your washing machine to run at 1.30 pm and your dishwasher at 2 pm.
Use Energy Efficient Appliances
Many of the electrical appliances that we use in today’s world are simply not energy efficient. Changing your light bulbs to energy efficient versions is easy and they pay for themselves really quickly. We don’t recommend that you spend money on new appliances when you don’t need them, but when you are purchasing new electrical goods such as refrigerators, dryers, washing machines and the like, look at their energy star ratings.
Switch off Appliances that are Not in Use
When your electrical appliances are not in use, turn them off! Then switch them off at the wall. A massive 75% of our electricity consumption is used to provide electricity to appliances that are not in use. Turning them off can save a whopping 10% of your power usage.
Seal Any Gaps
If you have gaps under your doors and windows have them sealed to stop air leaking in and out of your home. This will save you on heating and cooling costs. Close blinds and curtains to help reduce costs.
